Steps to Reapply
Reapply to SMC
Start by creating an account or signing in to OpenCCC. Complete and submit the CCCApply admission application. Be sure to verify your identity through ID.me or CA DMV Wallet inside the application portal.
💡 Returning Student Tip: If you already verified your identity through ID.me for a previous application you won't have to do it again! If you run into issues, remember you can always bring a photo ID directly to Admissions and Records.
Financial Aid (if needed)
SMC offers a variety of financial aid and scholarships to help you reach your goals. Apply for aid early. Over $50 million in aid is offered annually.
To receive disbursements, students 18 or older must verify their identity when creating their OpenCCC account. If you can’t verify online, bring a government-issued photo ID to Admissions and Records or the Financial Aid Office to complete verification.
Review Course Placement
Once you have applied, you will get an email with information on how to review your Math and English course placement.

Develop Education Plan
Meet with your counselor to review your prior coursework, map out your remaining units, and get clear answers on transfer goals. You can also view your path and track your own progress anytime using our degree planner, Stellic .
Enroll in Classes
Congratulations and welcome back to SMC! You have completed all the steps above. Now you can search for classes and enroll in the term you applied for.

Account Recovery
If you have previously created an OpenCCC account but do not remember the username or password, you can recover your account information via email or text message by clicking the "Forgot?" tab on the CCCApply sign in screen. You will receive instructions to the selected recover method for recovering your username, and creating a new password. Santa Monica College does not have access to OpenCCC accounts and is unable to assist students in recovering their account information. Please follow up with OpenCCC if you are unable to recover your account using their account recovery system.
