Get Verified
To protect students and ensure accurate processing, SMC requires proof of identity for applications flagged for verification and to process financial aid.
ID Verification
- Go to your CCCApply account.
- Sign-in with your OpenCCC account.
- Click on “Edit My Account.”
- Scroll to the bottom of the page and click on “Verify with ID.me Now” or "Verify with CA DMV Wallet" and follow the instructions.
Verifying using CA DMV Wallet

- Scan the QR code to open your CA DMV Wallet. If you do not have it, download it from the App Store or Google Play.
- Unlock your Wallet, then click "Accept."
- You should see "Identity Verified" if all went well and your OpenCCC account will be marked as verified.
Verifying using ID.me

- You will need primary or secondary documents like a government issued ID.
- Selfie-style photos will be taken.
- If you already have an ID.me verified account, you can use that by login in.
- You'll be routed back to CCCApply once you complete the verification.
- If you encounter problems with the verification process on ID.me, see the ID.me Help page.
What Happen Next
- SMC will get your ID.me verification overnight, and will update our records.
- Once the data is received, SMC personnel can continue to work on your admission application, financial aid application, or disbursement.
