Priority enrollment for graduates and alumni of our local high schools
Santa Monica and Malibu residents—and graduating seniors and alumni from our local high schools—are eligible for enrollment priority for credit classes at Santa Monica College. Priority enrollment appointments are automatically granted to qualifying students.
New students must apply online and have completed pre-enrollment orientation, assessment, and education planning to qualify.
Who is Eligible?

Current residents of Santa Monica and Malibu.

Graduating seniors and alumni of Santa Monica High, Malibu High, Olympic High, St. Monica Catholic High, Crossroads, and Lighthouse Academy, regardless of home address.

Returning and continuing students must be in good academic standing and have fewer than 30 credit units at SMC.
- F-1 visa students are not eligible for this program.
Please note that the State of California also requires certain populations, such as veterans and foster youth, to be granted priority enrollment. California does not allow SMC to offer enrollment priority to students currently enrolled in high school.
