Program Overview

What's MÁS?

Maximizing Achievement in STEM (MÁS) is an academic support program designed to assist students interested in pursuing Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) majors/careers.

The MÁS program mission is to help students in STEM successfully complete their educational goal at SMC, transfer to ANY baccalaureate program, and/or enter the STEM workforce.

IMPORTANT APPLICATION UPDATE:
As our current grant cycle comes to a close, our program is transitioning to a new model designed to continue supporting students in meaningful ways. We are actively developing updated processes and will be sharing more information soon about the next application cycle. Our goal is to reopen applications in Summer 2026, and we look forward to welcoming students into this new chapter.


STEM Blocked Sections: All remaining available spots in the “Temporarily Reserved” STEM sections of Spring 2026 courses will be released for general enrollment on: Thursday, January 8th at 12:01 a.m. (midnight - Wednesday night/Thursday morning).
