Yale University’s Three Application Pathways

Yale welcomes applications from Santa Monica College students.

  1. First-Year Application Process
For students who have completed less than the equivalent of one semester’s worth of transferable credits (high school students dual enrolled in high school and college apply as first-year applicants)

  2. Transfer Students
For those who have completed a minimum of 2 semesters, or 3 quarters of college-level enrollment and have earned at least one term’s worth or transferable credit .

  3. Eli Whitney Students Program
For individuals who have been out of high school for at least 5 years by the time of their intended Yale enrollment, and who have not yet received a bachelor’s degree. The Eli Whitney Students Program offers a traditional in-person Yale education for nontraditional students. Unlike the First-Year and Transfer pathways, there is no transferable credit floor or ceiling to be eligible to apply to the Eli Whitney Students Program.
