Schedule a Career Service Center Appointment
The Career Services Center staff is available Monday through Friday for 25-minute scheduled appointments. We do not offer drop-in career counseling. See below to schedule an appointment.
To make an appointment, email the Career Services Center at firstname.lastname@example.org first and last name, SMC ID number, a phone number where we can reach you and the reason for scheduling an appointment with the Career Services Center. Once scheduled, you will receive an email confirmation from SMC to your SMC student email, account containing information on your appointment. You should make an appointment with us if you need help with:
- Career and/or Major Exploration
- Resume and/or Cover Letter Review
- Mock Interview Assistance
- Internship Support
- Employment Resources
- Applied and Service-Learning Program
- Finding Volunteer Opportunities
Zoom Appointments: Zoom allows participants to share their computer screens. There is no need to create a zoom account, just check your email for the zoom link sent by SMC. You can participate free of charge.
Phone Call Appointments: Be sure to adjust cell Phone settings to allow phone numbers outside of your contacts or "No Caller ID" incoming calls at the time of your phone counseling appointment.
Note: Career Counseling appointments are NOT for academic educational plans or choosing classes. If you need help choosing classes or creating an academic educational plan, please make an appointment with an Academic Counselor. Also, in order to make an appointment with the Career Services Center, you must be an SMC student currently enrolled in a minimum of 3 units or be enrolled in our Counseling 12 - Exploring Careers and College Majors course.
