Employment Resources for Students

HireSMC is where you start your search process.  It is a portal for employers who are interested in recruiting SMC students to post jobs, internship, volunteer and other opportunities. As an SMC student, you will be able to search for full-time, part-time, internships, summer jobs, volunteer opportunities at the Career Center from any place that has an Internet connection. You can even search for Student Help and Federal Work Study on-campus student positions. 

*International Students studying on an F-1 student visa, must receive approval from the International Education Centerbefore being employed off-campus, volunteering off-campus and/or interning.

The goal of a resume and cover letter is to market your skills, experiences and accomplishments, supplement a standardized job application, and most importantly, a way for you to obtain a phone and/or in-person interview. During the interview, you have the opportunity to determine whether the company and position matches what you want, express to the employer that you have the right skills and qualifications as well as demonstrate how you can relate/fit in with the organization.
