Testing Accommodations for Students

Proctoring Requirements

Only eligible students who have registered with the DSPS office may use the Proctoring Room

Testing accommodations are not automatic and must be requested and approved every term.  Students must meet with a DSPS counselor, LD or ABI Specialist in a timely manner to discuss the testing accommodations required for a specific term.  If approved, the DSPS Counselor, LD or ABI  Faculty Specialist will inform the instructors of the testing accommodation conditions.  Students are recommended to follow-up with their instructors as well to confirm that the approval has been received.

More complex testing accommodation requests may require two or more  weeks to assess or process.  You may not be accommodated for an immediate test/quiz if the college does not have sufficient time to work on them; thus it is critical to meet with a DSPS Counselor, LD or ABI Faculty Specialist well in advance.  Plan ahead!

Proctor Room Appointment:

-You MUST make a reservation at least 48 BUSINESS HOURS in advance each time you need to take a quiz/exam at the DSPS/CSD Proctor Room ( on ground classes) or the DSPS/CSD online virtual proctor room (online classes).  If you do not adhere to this timeline, proctoring services may not be guaranteed for the time/day requested.  In this case, you will need to work out an alternative time/day with your instructor and our office as soon as possible.

**If you are approved and using Assistive Technology (Ex: Kurzweil) for your exam, please do not use the reservation form below. Instead, please email: httc@smc.edu to schedule your testing appointment.**

-If you have trouble accessing the form make sure you are signed into your SMC Office 365 account through Corsair Connect or Canvas. You can also open an incognito tab which will prompt you to sign in.
