The building includes a 100-seat lecture hall with raked seating for music and film, a dedicated science lab, a flexible art classroom featuring wet sinks, a computer room, open floor spaces for dance and yoga, general classrooms, and offices.
Class offerings will likely be modeled on what was offered in Malibu before physical space became a constraint: a mix of general education, noncredit including SMC’s popular Emeritus program, and specialization in disciplines such as geology, life science, and ecology, to tie into the rich and varied coastal features nearby.
