About the History Peer Learning Program

The History Peer Learning Program is an Equity-funded project that aims to increase student success by offering instructional support at no cost to SMC students enrolled in select History course offerings during the Fall and Spring semester.

Our Peer Mentors will coach you on:

  • How to develop effective strategies for boosting literacy skills.

  • Annotating the textbook.

  • Interpreting primary and secondary sources.

  • Preparing for quizzes and exams.

  • Understanding essay prompts.

  • Formatting a thesis and essay outline.
