Welcome to the Computer Science and Information Systems Tutoring Center!
Winter Tutoring will begin on January 6, 2026
Tutors are current students at SMC and have been recommended to the role by the faculty. Tutoring is open to all current SMC students, both online and on ground.
Tutors are available both in person and online through Zoom. Please take note of the tutor's modality when booking your appointment.
Appointments are available in advance, same-day, or drop-in through Corsair Connect.
To Schedule an Appointment or Register for a Drop-In:
- Log in to Corsair Connect
- From the left hand menu, select Resources and Services. Then select tutoring.
- You will be brought to the appointment system. Use the menu to select the CSIS schedule.
- Select the class you would like help with.
- For CS 3, be sure to mark which language (if any), is being used in your class.
- If you can't find a CS 3 tutor, you can use the following list to choose a tutor who works with that language. (e.g. if your class is using Python, you can work with a CS 87A tutor)

- During business hours, you can use the button on the scheduling page to connect to the Zoom to speak with the coordinator for assistance in scheduling. Alternatively, you can email them at gateward_deja@smc.edu
- Select the appropriate tutor at the best time and date for you.
- Fill in the information for your tutoring session, including any details you would like to share with the tutor in advance.
On ground tutoring is held in the Library, Room 224 (the big glass room in the middle of the second floor.) Monday through Thursday.
If you have an online appointment Monday-Thursday, you are welcome to have your Zoom meeting in the tutoring center.
All tutoring on Friday will be online and the on-ground center will not be open.

Faculty Recommendations
Faculty may recommend students as candidates for tutoring positions. Recommendations are accepted at any time and tutors are hired throughout the year as needed. To recommend a student tutor, please email Deja Gateward at gateward_deja@smc.edu
Tutor Applications
Please note that as of September 4, 2025, all CSIS tutoring positions have been filled. Students are still welcome to submit an application in the event that our needs change during the 25-26 school year.
