Learning-Aligned Employment Program

Learning Aligned Employment Program (LAEP) Student Employment

LAEP student employment is employment funded through the California Student Aid Commission (CSAC) and is connected to financial aid. Students who meet eligibility requirements can earn money in part-time jobs that are related to their field of study. LAEP is a form of financial aid and is included in the total financial aid package. LAEP wages may not exceed a student’s unmet need for the academic year.

Students must be enrolled at least half-time (6 units) to be eligible.

Students under LAEP student employment can work:

  • 19 hours maximum per week for fall and spring.

Student Eligibility

To be eligible for LAEP, students must meet the following requirements:

  • Be classified as a California resident.
  • Be eligible to work in the United States.
  • Be enrolled in a minimum of six units during the semester that they will be working.
