Learning Disabilities Program

 

 

Welcome!

The Santa Monica College Learning Disabilities Program provides support services to students with learning disabilities who are enrolled in college classes. 

In order to receive these services, a student must provide specific documentation of a learning disability or be evaluated to determine eligibility for the program. An Assessment Class is offerred serveral times during the semester. The assessment process provide an opportunity for students to discover their cognitive and academic strength and weaknesses in addition to determining eligibility for services. The learning Disabilities Specialist will interpret the test results and make individual recommendations on how to improve learning and study strategies.

Test results are compared to guidelines provided by the State of California, in accordance with federal mandates, to determin whether a student qualifies for on-going support services as a student a learning disability.
