All Transportation services requested MUST be processed by the Transportation Department. No exceptions allowed.
The Transportation Request Form (below) must be filled out by a faculty or staff member and submitted at least 10 days in advance of the requested trip. Students are not allowed to sign the form.
The vehicles available are 15-passenger vans and 22-30 passenger shuttle buses. (Vehicles and drivers are subject to availability)
All faculty or staff members driving a 15-passenger van and transporting students must have a class “B” California Driver’s License with passenger endorsement and be enrolled in the California DMV “pull notice program”. Additional requirements are required for transporting students in shuttle buses. (call Transportation Department for details 310-434-3554).
If the requested trip is local (with 50-mile range), from Monday to Friday, 8 a.m. – 5 p.m., the trip may be free of charge. If the local trip is before 8 a.m. or after 5 p.m. or on weekends, there will be a charge at the overtime rate of approximately $45.00 per hour.
Any field trip will require an Authorization Request for Off-Campus Activity.
For services requiring more than a 30 passenger vehicle, a charter service is also available. The transportation request must be filled out with all pertinent data relating to the trip. Rates for charter services range from $85 to $115 per hour with a 5-hour minimum. All requests for charter service must be processed by the Transportation Department; no exceptions allowed.
